 Good afternoon,  Today we did reading first thing.  We had a smudge to honor Orange Shirt Day. Students were very respectful.  We read The Orange Shirt Story. We brainstormed how our school is different than Residential Schools. We talked about what makes us feel happy and safe at school.  We read from our new novel, The Cats of Tanglewood.  \Yesterday Mr. Fisher read the first chapter of 2 novels and we voted on which one we wanted to read.  This afternoon, we had gym and recess.  We continued to work on the medicine wheel. We talked about caring for our body today.  We finished the day by designing our own shirt for Orange Shirt Day. Reminders: No school tomorrow for Truth and Reconciliation Day.  Mr. Fisher will be away Monday for an appointment.

 Good afternoon, We did reading this morning. We did basic facts in math.  We had gym. We practiced our Terry Fox Run for tomorrow. We will be doing it in gym class.  We read another book about Terry Fox. We worked on finishing our writing about him.  We read from our novel.  This afternoon, we did partner reading. We continued working on the medicine wheel.  We finished our novel after recess. We ended the day with Mathletics and Raz Kids.  Reminders: Terry Fox run tomorrow! Orange Shirt Day on Wednesday! No school Thursday for Truth and Reconciliation day.

 Good afternoon, We did reading and math this morning.  We had music with Mr. Wiens.  We watched a video and read a story about Terry Fox. We did writing about why Terry Fox is a hero and how we can be like him.  We practiced our Land Acknowledgement before lunch. We're getting really good at it.  This afternoon we had gym outside. We went for a walk to practice for the Terry Fox run next week.  We talked more about the medicine wheel today. We talked about taking care of our mind. We finished the day with science. We measured our shadows with a partner. We noticed that changing our bodies can make them longer and shorter. We're going to measure them at a different time of day to see if they are a different size.  Reminders:  No school tomorrow! No  school next Thursday for Truth and Reconciliation Day.  Good afternoon, We did quiet reading this morning.  We did math with dice. We rolled numbers and wrote them in expanded form. 89=80+9 After recess, we read a story called Chrysanthemum. It's about feeling different. We did name art based on the book.  We did health. We talked about how people can be smart in different ways and wrote down ways in which we are smart.  This afternoon, we did social studies. We learned more about the medicine wheel. We focused on our heart today. We wrote about ways we can make our heart feel good and ways we can make someone else's heart feel good.  We also practiced our land acknowledgement for the assembly.  Reminders: Online Meet the Teacher tomorrow!  Good afternoon, This  morning we did reading and math. We chose our questions like yesterday.  We had snack and watched a video about animals.  We read from our novel. Ask your child what we read today. We had gym on the compound.  After gym, we wrote about how we can show Pillars of Care. We learned that when we walk in a good way our whole community benefits.  We had music with Mr. Wiens and ended the day by making an origami fox.  Reminders: Meet the teacher online session on Thursday June 23rd from 6-8pm. 

 Good afternoon, We started with reading and math. We did a variety of questions today. We had to pick at least 7.  We read a book called, "Zach Gets Frustrated." We learned about how to handle our frustration. There are 3 steps,  Name it. Tame it.  Reframe it.  We did social studies this morning. We practiced our land acknowledgement for the assembly and learned about Student Vote.  This afternoon, we had gym with Ms. Sterne.  We did more math. We learned some strategies for doing multiplication in our head.  We we finished the day by working on a guided drawing. Reminders: Meet the teacher next Thursday! It is online.

 Good afternoon, We did quiet reading to start the day.  We did skip counting in math.  We had gym inside today. We played games.  We worked on our novel study after recess. We did a summary of the book so far. We also made some connections to the novel.  We did some mapping today. We labelled and coloured a map of Canada.  We did partner reading after lunch.  Ms. Yu visited our class today while Mr. Fisher did some work. We learned about the medicine wheel.  We filled in our own medicine wheel after recess.  We ended the day with Mathletics or Raz Kids.  Reminders: Please return any outstanding demographics forms. 

 Good afternoon, Today we started with reading.  We did math and went outside for gym.  We had snack and finished Horton Hears a Who.  We learned about Mino-Pimatisiwin today. It means to "walk in a good way," or "live a good live." We talked about ways we can walk in a good way.  We did writing about things we do to live a good life and show care.  We finished our questions about Horton Hears a Who. This afternoon, we did partner reading.  We read the book Horton Hears a who and compared it to the movie. We made a Venn Diagram to list the similarities and differences.  After recess we finished our Venn Diagram. We ended the day with Mathletics or Prodigy.  Reminders: Please return all demographic forms as soon as you can!

Good afternoon, We started with quiet reading this morning. We did a great job! We did some morning math. We solved several different problems.  We read from our novel while we ate snack.  We did writing after recess. We wrote a letter to Mr. Fisher about some of our favourite things. We also wrote about what is hard for us at school and what we like to do at school.  We did some work on zones today. We made a thermometer for one of the zones. We wrote what we look like in that zone and what we can do to help ourselves.  We did a spelling test to help Mr. Fisher figure out all the words we know.  This afternoon, we did partner reading.  We had gym with our new Phys. Ed Specialist, Ms. Sterne. We did team building games.  We did art this afternoon. We drew a self portrait.  Reminders: Please return demographics forms ASAP. All Digital Citizenship forms must be returned by Thursday! You need one to go on iPads.

Good afternoon,   We had a great first day back! We made name tags for our desk and coat hook. We learned about our routines in the classroom and took a tour of the school.   We read a story about the first day of school.  We had snack and went outside for recess. We made a graph of the ways we go home. We answered some questions about our graph.  After lunch, we went to the gym. We had recess right after gym.  In the afternoon, we did art. We made a backpack with details about ourselves. We will be adding pages to our backpack for the rest of the week.  We learned some card games and played them to finish the day.  Please return digital citizenship forms!! Students need them to use technology.
