 Good afternoon,  We did reading this morning. We are getting better at focusing during read to self.  We did fractions in math.  We did indoor recess this morning because it was too cold to go outside.  We read from our novel this morning. We are getting close to the end.  We learned about Pink Shirt Day before lunch.  This afternoon, we had gym with Ms. Sterne.  We read a book about kindness and designed our own shirt for Pink Shirt Day. Reminders: Conferences are coming up on March 10th.

 Good afternoon, We did reading to start. We took a few minutes to settle down because we are so excited about the short week.  We had a class meeting and did gym. We played games.  We did Silverwing after recess.  We did an art project using warm and cool colours for Valentine's Day.  We read a story before lunch called "Stacey's Extraordinary Words." This afternoon, we did science. We learned about our heart and made a card to thank our heart for keeping us alive.  Reminders: No school Thursday, Friday, or Monday.

 Good afternoon, We had a special treat this morning and watched a few minutes of the Olympics. We watched the Canadian women's team play hockey.  We did reading. We had gym. We played a game of pool noodle tag and then we did bench ball.  We had snack and read our novel.  We drew our mushrooms. They are growing fast! We did social studies. We read about fossils.  We watched the 3rd episode of Silverwing.  We did a sharing circle and talked about our week.  We finished the day with art.  Reminders: Teacher's Convention next week. No school Thursday and Friday.

Good afternoon,  We did reading to start the day. We are tracking our reading for "Reading, Give it a Shot!" We can earn cards when we read 60 minutes.  We did a math task. We practiced adding money.  We had snack and read our novel Silverwing.  After recess we watched an episode of the Silverwing TV show and compared it to the book.  We worked on our art project inspired by Alma Thomas today.  When we looked at our mushroom experiment today we noticed a change.  There are tiny white bumps starting to poke out.  This afternoon we did more reading. Several students earned a card today.  We had gym with Ms. Sterne.  After recess we did Mathletics and Raz Kids. 

 Our class has earned a PJ day tomorrow! Wear your PJs or comfy clothes. 

 Good afternoon, We've had a great start to the week. We began our mushroom experiment this week.  We have to mist the mushrooms every day. We added containers of water to increase the humidity. We are drawing the mushrooms each day to track our progress.  We started the week with intentions. This is a small daily goal we set for ourselves. We wrote them on a sticky note and put them on the whiteboard.  We did really well with our intentions. We learned about Catherine Johnson yesterday. She worked for NASA in the 1950s and helped to launch several space shuttles.  We read a story about her called, "Counting on Catherine." Today we solved a math mystery for Groundhog Day. We worked in groups and had lots of fun.  We also read a story about Chinese New Year. We learned a lot from our classmates who celebrate.  We ended the day with Mathletics and Raz Kids.  Reminders: Report cards are available online!
